Market Wizards
When I think about the legendary traders like Jesse Livermore and William Joseph O'Neil it sometimes looked like William O'Neil was the modern-day equivalent of Jesse Livermore in a more modern time. I think a big difference was O'Neil had access to computers and data.
I am especially intrigued about how William O'Neil tried spreading the word through his book, seminars and newsletter. I also heard Mike Webster say the newsletter and book generally never really made money. They did it for the public. Now that's a statement. This guy believed in the American dream and wanted everybody to have it, if you worked hard.
I find myself thinking how amazing it must have been to be able to talk to these guys and learn from them in person. Sadly these two have passed away. But something I'm seeing online happening right now is quite amazing too. Some traders who have worked with William O'Neil and talked to him have a good presence online. Mike Webster for example shares mountains of knowledge on his YouTube channel from his time he used to work with this legend and talks about things with other successful traders who drew great inspiration from him as well.
There are quite a lot of very successful traders we can learn a ton from, who have great online presence today and sometimes have written books. There are some great online communities and I'm trying to surround myself with more like minded traders. Generally learning from each other I think is the best, fastest and most fun way to learn.
I am aware of the meetups happening in the US but as I am EU based, that's a bit too far to travel. I am definitely thinking about how great it would be to have one of those in Europe / The Netherlands.
Following this post I thought about creating a list of traders I draw inspiration from. I started writing about some of my favorite traders, you can find the list in the navigation bar of the blog or just click here. I have also crated a bookshelf page which contain some of the writings of these traders and other interesting books.
If you want to discuss trading and other related things, I'll be happy to talk. Discord username: @sunsetsession_60476
